You’ve probably heard the song “Tennessee Whiskey” as it has been making the rounds for quite some time. The song was originally performed by David Allen Coe and was released in 1981. George Jones covered the song in 1983 and recently Chris Stapleton took his own crack at it.
It’s a country music song that millions love to hear. That’s one reason why the video we are about to show you went viral so quickly. It’s yet another cover of the country music song, sung by a Texas father and recorded by his daughter. Kris Jones is the man in the video below, and we do believe he may have the best cover of the hit song out there.
We have been singing and swaying along to the beat of “Tennessee Whiskey” ever since we saw the video. Dad has a classic sound to his voice that really enhances the song.
We also love how his daughter captured the moment on video. Who else wouldn’t start recording their own truck concert? Plus, it is so cute how she lip-syncs the song along with her father. You can see how very proud she is of her dad and his amazing talent!
She should be proud of her dad. His fans have been growing daily ever since this video was released online. Everyone who hears it just falls in love with his voice!
Ellen DeGeneres, star of “The Ellen Show,” is also a fan. Dayla, his daughter, originally uploaded the video to show to her friends. After it went viral and gathered more than a million views, Ellen reached out to the family and invited them onto her show, reports Sounds Like Nashville.
Dayla and her father flew out to be on the show right away, and Jones told Ellen and his viewers that he has always dreamed of being a singer. But, as life would have it, other things would get in his way.
Jones auditioned for “The Voice” and is planning on following his dreams. We will be crossing our fingers that he makes it! Get a jump on hearing him on the hit show and check out his video below. It will absolutely blow your mind!
